For even more harmonic purity, Orchestrionix is working on a VC-motor system to move the valves of the horns to match the tube’s length with the frequency of the played note. And if the horn was a straight tube, then yes, adjusting the length of the tube to match the frequency of the played note would be absolutely necessary.
But the conical shape of the horn itself inherently supports all frequencies intended by the horn in a natural way. This means that every note played by the uPhonic mouthpiece on a brass instrument will very closely match the spectrum of the original sound even without moving the valves of a trumpet or sliding the trombone.
