Midi Conversion

All the organs and orchestrions built over the last century use the magnificent book/piano roll operating systems. These systems have been of great importance due to their improved ease of use and timing resolution compared to the previous barrel organ systems.
Although many enthusiasts and users have been very averse to adding midi, all about respect for the originality of these historically important instruments, the advantages of midi have been so tremendous that not converting is now considered to be a great loss to the musical abilities of these magnificent organs.

Preserving Organ Authenticity

If conversion to midi is considered, leaving as much of the organ untouched is key.
This is where the DECAP double-valve Midi-Unit system shines. Each unit has 16 double-switching valves, which means that the valve sits in between the key frame and the main chest, leaving the book/roll operation completely intact. You can even playbook and MIDI at the same time.
The 16-note unit has absolute minimum measurements and can be mounted in any position, even upside down. The free assignment of each valve to any midi-note numbers assures that the length of the tubing can be kept to an absolute minimum, and this is an incredible advantage during installation. Just connect the tube from the key frame to the closest valve to the closest chest input, and tell the system what this valve is supposed to be/drive later.
