Arranging for organ often means working with limited feedback during the process. MIDIMapper is built to make that stage more convenient by combining flexible MIDI routing with realistic organ playback.
It is a MIDI routing and playback tool that uses real organ samples and layered mapping, reducing the gap between arrangement and final result.
MIDIMapper processes a MIDI input and routes it to multiple outputs based on custom-defined maps. This allows you to structure how musical data is handled and heard, while keeping the setup adaptable to different workflows.
Because playback is based on real organ samples rather than standard MIDI sounds, what you hear during arranging is a more accurate representation of the final result on the instrument.
Select a MIDI input (for example from arranging software via a virtual MIDI cable such as loopMIDI) and assign the outputs. This typically only needs to be configured once and is stored for future use.
Create mapping data by assigning incoming notes to output channels and save the configuration. The mapping can be refined continuously until the desired result is achieved.
Within a single map, up to 12 layers can be combined. This allows registrations to be stacked and evaluated in context, without needing external playback or export.
The internal engine supports organ-based playback with multiple registers sounding simultaneously. Features such as per-register tremolo and support for custom samples allow adaptation to different instruments and styles.
Global note duration can be adjusted in milliseconds, making it possible to compensate for differences between mapper timing, book note lengths, and actual organ response.
MIDIMapper includes a built-in recording function for capturing output from the internal sound modules. Recordings can be exported as WAV files for review or sharing.
The software is suitable for both pipe organ and street organ applications, and can be extended with additional samples such as percussion or glockenspiel where needed.
